Performing in a Recital (New Procedures as of Fall 2011)
Students can sign up for SA recitals THROUGH THEIR PRIVATE TEACHERS ONLY.  The deadlines for signing up for all solo recitals are given directly to the teachers in the beginning of each academic year (usually between 4 and 6 weeks prior to recital date).  No late recital requests can be honored.

Parents must inform teachers BEFORE the student is signed up for a solo recital of any time restrictions/requests.  Efforts will be made to accommodate requests but cannot be guaranteed.  Requests cannot be accepted after the recital sign-up deadline.

NEW - the front desk will no longer be handling the scheduling of rehearsals with accompanists.  A SA faculty member will be assigned to the task and will contact parents directly regarding scheduling.  Rehearsals with piano are REQUIRED for solo performances.  The schedule is determined on a first-come, first served basis.  If a student cannot attend any of the available rehearsal slots, the result may be that the student will have to wait until a later recital to perform.

Guidelines for participation in Suzuki Academy Concerts are as follows:

-All students must rehearse with the assigned accompanist prior to solo recitals.  Students will not be allowed to perform if they have not rehearsed with the accompanist.
-Please plan to stay for the entire duration of all concerts in which your child participates.
-Flash photography is NOT permitted during performances.
-Please turn off all cell phones during performances.
-Video cameras are NOT permitted in the FIRST 8 ROWS because it is too close to the performers and distracting.  Please set up all recording equipment beyond the 8th row.
-Very young children (who may potentially make distracting noises) need to sit IN THE BACK of the concert hall.
-Please be sure to check in about recital arrival times (generally a minimum of 20 minutes prior to the start of a recital) and reception needs.
